Elizabeth M. Hughes, Ph.D., is an associate professor of special education at The Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Hughes’ research evaluates literacy and mathematics interventions for students with disabilities and those considered at risk for academic challenges. She is especially interested in the role of language in academic content learning. She has published her research in several peer-reviewed journals. She serves as the chair of the Professional Development, Standards, and Ethics committee for the Council for Exceptional Children’s Division for Learning Disabilities.
