About Top-Class
The Education Leadership Research Center and Center for Research & Development in Dual Language & Literacy Acquisition teams in the College of Education and Human Development deliver on-demand Texas Education Agency-recognized continuing professional education (CPE) professional development to educators from Texas, across the rest of the United States, and internationally. This streaming services provides teachers and administrators with a wealth of content tailored to meet the needs of novice and veteran educators.
Supported through the Accelerated Preparation of Leaders for Underserved Schools (APLUS) grant, directed by Dr. Beverly J. Irby, and co-directed by Drs. Rafael Lara-Alecio, Fuhui Tong, and Mario Torres, this U.S. funded professional development is led by Dr. Matthew J. Etchells and coordinated by Dr. Donna Druery. Covering topics from school safety and critical dialogues, peer coaching and professional learning communities, technology capacity building, to our Top-Class Fellow Academy. The Top-Class Educational Professional Development streaming service in now offered as an annual subscription.
Our Goals
The goal of the Top-Class Educational Professional Development streaming service is to provide on-demand research-based strategies that support teachers and leaders to build their instructional and leadership capacity. This program, part of APLUS is funded by the Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) grant program, U.S. Department of Education, and is based on the research and development within the APLUS grant.
