Presenter(s):
Bryan Penfound is an educator who received his BSc from Brock University in Ontario, Canada, his MSc from the University of Manitoba, and his MMT from the University of Waterloo. He is the organizer of the Spring into Math event at Okanagan College, a day of play-based mathematics for elementary school students. He believes in an organic approach to changing the culture of mathematics, leading with questions, and developing stories to help learners access mathematics in the classroom. He also has a firm base in cognitive psychology and cognitive load theory and has presented research findings in mathematics education and cognitive load theory across Canada and internationally.
